1. God does not owe you an answer. 2. Nothing bad happened to Job, he just went through a rough spot in the flesh. Job was blessed greatly in the flesh, but even to focus on that would be to miss the point. God can be trusted, not only in life, but in death.
First of all, you need to understand that Ehrman and timothy Jones are not about the same thing. I am reading Ehrman now, and in just 3 pages, he has shown that the bible is not inerrant, and if it is by God then God must have been making a lot of mistakes. This "blog" is telling to that instead of reading Ehrman that you should read Timothy Jones who wrote a book to debunk to debunk Ehrman. The best solution is to get both books and judge for yourselves, think for yourselves not let a blog decide for you. You do the thinking and come up with your own conclusion.

I definitely appreciate that "Christianity is better compared to a farm, not a factory". And I still prefer books as my method of "gathering information", however I have moved quite a bit towards electronic "note storage" for the following reasons:

I like being able to "search" all my notes using a keyword. This can help me to find something I might not easily track down.

I type easier than I write, and when I have a page or more worth of thoughts, it saves me a few hand cramps.

I can use my computer to share selected notes with others via printing or thumb drive when desired.

I copy all my notes to 2 SD cards, one of which is contained in a jar in my yard. If my dwelling burns down, my lifetime of notes does not.

Lastly, and my favorite reason of all (here comes a plug) - I grew tired of keeping my notes in different bibles. When I outwore or gave a bible away, there went my notes. To fix this for myself, I wrote a bible note storage program. I eventually turned it into something I offer to others via free trial or retail version. This software (called NoteKeep) allows users to auto create any book, chapter, or verse note taking area on their computer via mouse click, and handles any other topic the user may desire as well. It also allows for searches etc.. It can be seen at www.thenotekeep.com.
