Blog Review: The Shepherd’s Scrapbook
I don’t read very many blogs; I just don’t have the time. My blog reading resembles my book buying for my library: I try to only chose the best because I have neither the time (or in the case of my books, the money) to read everything. Here is one blog, however, that, in my opinion, deserves a regular perusal: Tony Reinke’s Shepherd’s Scrapbook.
Reinke’s Scrapbook began as a storehouse of quotes from great theologians. If you visit his site you will see a massive category list where he has compiled quote after quote from various theologians—all filed in their appropriate groups. This is a tremendously helpful and edifying resource on its own. Recently, however, Reinke has also been blessing the blog community with his own writing. The most popular of which was Reinke’s “Blank Bible Project.” Reinke, following the example of Jonathan Edwards, builit his own “Blank Bible” and documented the entire process in a three-part series. This project received wide-readership in the blogsphere as the ESV blog learned of Reinke’s project and featured it on their site.
Reinke demonstrates a passion for the glory of Christ, sound theology, and excellent workmanship. He is not only a reader and a preacher, he is also a carpenter and copywriter. He is president Reinke Remondeling and Repair while boasting a large and well-recommended portfolio of sucessful advertisements and articles.
The Shepherd’s Scrapbook is an excellent resource that I trust will continue in providing readers with nourishing thoughts for their souls. Check it out.
